Duke of Edinburgh Camp Reflection
We visited the otways/ apollo bay on the 23rd till the 27th of March, getting an experience on independence and the environment.
We visited one of the coastal regions of victoria. Everything we experienced gave me another view on independence. Abseiling, coastal hike and the beach walks all gave me a new experience and let me discover my sense in adventure and capabilities.
The camp did give me a few challenges that I had to face on my own. The challenges were walking on the tree-top walk and the environment. I have a fear of spiders (which links up with the environment) and I’m scared of bridges.
How I helped myself in the five days that we stayed camping, was that I just kept on reassuring myself that everything was going to be okay and that it was no big deal, things like this are bound to happen someday when i’m older and it's better to experience it now then later.
The people in my class are all wonderful people, some friendships stronger than others but we are all like a big family, so we were all comfortable with each other. The challenges my group faced as a whole werent really that big. It was just keeping up with other members of the group when walking, some of us walked faster then other and some a little bit slower. We needed to work on how long we were doing certain things for, we had a time limit that we, as a whole, did not really follow that well but that is all. Also some of us were scared of doing the otway abseiling but we had all encouraged them telling them it was gonna be fast and that it was okay, they eventually got over it saying at the end that it was fine.
We were all assigned a role and did it well making our group work efficiently and work well with each other.
The camp leaders were both amazing people, outgoing and one of the best people i have encountered on camp. I have gotten a stronger relationship with my peers looking into a better perspective of them and another side that i have never seen before. It was a good opportunity for us to make new friendships and stronger ones.
All i knew about our tutor teacher was that he was a math teacher and he likes cars. But at this camp, I had met a more friendlier and helpful tutor teacher that i’ve known for about three years now.
The lows of adventure were that you had to scrub the trangias clean and that took a lot of effort and work. the The highs were basically everything else besides that.
I would pay so much money to do that again and again with my class, it was one of the best experiences and I will cherish this memory for a long time.

Bald hill hike Reflection.
The role I played within my group on the local experience was being the photographer. Aspects I found challenging during was catching up with everyone whilst trying to get images of the view each time we traveled a great distance. That you actually do use maths for everyday experiences even if you don't realize it is everywhere.
The ares we traveled in was rural and it was actually surprising to me because I do not live in Bacchus Marsh and all I knew of it was that it had houses everywhere and farms so when we got up there I was actually quite surprised to what I saw Bacchus Marsh to be.
